Tour company heading to trial for alleged whale chase caught on camera
An iceberg and whale watching tour company and a boater are heading to separate trials for allegedly getting too close to a whale off Newfoundland's coast.
Trial dates were set Friday for local tour company, Iceberg Quest Ocean Tours, which allegedly got too close to a whale near Cape Spear in August 2014.
A CBC crew that happened to be on the water the day of the incident with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans had recorded the incident on video.
The company has already pleaded not guilty and is now slated to go to trial in May.
Meanwhile, Walter Reddick, 62, of Tors Cove is facing the same charge.
Reddick was allegedly operating the tour boat that day.
He has also pleaded not guilty and is heading to trial next month.
