1 dead, 2 injured after industrial accident in Labrador

A man was killed and two others were injured in an industrial accident in Happy Valley-Goose Bay around 9 a.m. Saturday.

A man was killed and two others were injured in an industrial accident in Happy Valley-Goose Bay around 9 a.m. Saturday.

RCMP said the three men were working on a fuel truck belonging to Woodward's Oil when the explosion took place.

The man who died was an employee of Stafford's Welding Ltd.

The two other men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One is an employee of Stafford's Welding, and the other man an employee of Woodward's Oil.

Police have blocked off the garage and occupational health and safety inspectors are ensuring the safety of the location before an investigation into the incident can continue.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
