Weekend road closures: Construction, a street fair plus Tour de l'Île and Tour la Nuit
Turcot work continues; Mont-Royal Avenue closed for street fair
To get around Montreal this weekend, public transit, bicycles or a superhuman ability to navigate a compromised road network will be essential, with roads closures around the city due to construction, bike tours and a street fair. Here's the rundown:
Tour la Nuit
The Tour la Nuit on Friday is a 21-kilometre cycling route that starts on Parc Avenue at 8:15 p.m. ET, heads east to Parc Maisonneuve and ends back at Jeanne-Mance Park.
The road closures start as of 6:30 p.m. Roads will reopen as the tour progresses along the route, with the last closures ending at midnight.
Here's a list of the closures. And here's the route map (get a PDF here):
Tour de l'Île
Tour de l'Île occurs Sunday morning and the length of the route varies, but all events start on Parc Avenue and end at Jeanne-Mance Park.
The shorter routes head through Outremont, Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-De-Grâce, Montreal West, Lachine, Lasalle and Verdun. The longer routes go around the West Island. You can find a list of closed streets here.
Camillien Houde Way will be closed to drivers over the mountain on Sunday morning between 7:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. for one of eight Cyclovia events this season, which is affiliated with the Tour de l'Île.
