Thirty-eight years ago today, the body of teenager Hélène Monast was found in a park near the Chambly Canal.
Her killer has never been found.
Today, Quebec provincial police are trying to stir up new leads in a cold case that has been on the books for nearly four decades.
The night before her body was found, Monast had been at a local restaurant celebrating her 18th birthday. She was attacked and killed on her way home as she walked through the park.
Police are setting up a command post in Parc des Ateliers in Chambly today to speak with anyone who may have any information never divulged about what happened that night.
Officers will be on site as of 8 a.m.
