Naël Shiab is a Montreal-based journalist specializing in data-driven interactives and investigations. He uses his coding skills to answer questions of public interest by gathering, analyzing and visualizing data. When he’s not working on his stories, Nael helps other data reporters with their methodology and code. Naël is bilingual and previously worked for Radio-Canada. In 2023, he won RTDNA Canada’s Excellence in Data Storytelling Award and the Digital Publishing Awards’ top honour for Innovation in Digital Storytelling.
