The latest victim was a woman in her sixies who lived in the Montérégie area, south of Montreal. Public health officials confirmed she had pre-existing health problems when she contracted the virus.
This death brings the total number of deaths related to the H1N1 virus in Quebec to 16. In all, more than 2,200 cases of the swine flu have been confirmed in the province.
Across Canada, 42 people have died from the flu.
