Woman, 84, in critical condition after St. Vital crash

An 84-year-old woman remains in hospital in critical condition after she was hit by a vehicle in St. Vital early Saturday afternoon.

Police asking for any one who who witnessed incident to contact them

An 84-year-old woman remains in hospital in critical condition after she was hit by a vehicle in St. Vital early Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to the area of St. Anne's Road and Compark Road at 12:30 p.m. after reports of a crash.

A northbound SUV struck the woman at a crosswalk. Police believe the crosswalk lights were activated at the time. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition.

Investigators were on the scene for hours interviewing people in the area who may have witnessed the crash.

Police believe there was only one vehicle involved in the collision.

No one has been charged in connection with the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
