The next time you wake up and don't remember precisely where you are, all you need to do is visit The Forks.

A 2.5-metre-high "Winnipeg" sign will be installed next to Festival Stage at The Forks on Wednesday to serve as a permanent selfie magnet and city landmark.

The Canada Summer Games host society covered the $120,000 cost of the sign, which president and CEO Jeff Hnatiuk said "will stand as a reminder of the 2017 Canada Summer Games for years to come."

The sign will be illuminated for the first time on Saturday.

The inaugural lighting of the sign is slated for Saturday. (City of Winnipeg)
