CBC Manitoba is popping up in Garden City
Join us at Garden City Shopping Centre, in the food court, from March 6 - 21
UPDATE: In light of the changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, CBC Manitoba is making the difficult decision to suspend the My Garden City bureau pop-up. We continue to monitor the situation. We are taking these precautions because we want our employees and the general public to take steps to be healthy during this time.
CBC Manitoba is popping up in Garden City, one of Winnipeg's fastest-growing communities and home-base for the city's booming Filipino community.
- Dates: March 6 to 21, 2020
- Location: Garden City Shopping Centre (next to the food court) 2305 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB
For the next three weeks, a remote newsroom of reporters and producers will be set up at Garden City Shopping Centre, next to the food court — and we want to hear your stories!
You'll be able to experience Filipino culture — music, dance, art and food — through interactive events organized by influencers in the local Filipino community.
"The pop-up bureau is bringing everyone in our community together and filling the generational gap," says Allan Pineda, one of the organizers and co-chairs for Kultivation Festival — a new Filipino festival that kicks off in Winnipeg this summer.
"By collaborating and working as a whole we are engaging today's youth to rediscover our traditional culture."
