'I need help Winnipeg': Christine Wood's parents aren't giving up hope

Christine Wood has been missing for nearly 12 weeks. Her parents, George and Melinda Wood, have searched tirelessly for her, taping up posters, handing out flyers and asking people they pass on the street if anyone has seen their daughter.

George and Melinda Wood have been searching tirelessly for their daughter Christine for 12 weeks. They've been taping up posters, handing out flyers and asking people they pass on the street if anyone has seen her.

"Oh, we've been everywhere in the city, North End, Central, Downtown, Osborne, South Osborne, St. Vital area, Transcona, everywhere, West End." Christine's mother said. "I'm worried about her."

The 21-year-old disappeared August 19 while visiting Winnipeg with her family from Oxford House First Nation. She was last seen leaving the Days Inn on Berry Street. Winnipeg Police say she left that area sometime after 9:00 pm.

The Woods said they're confident investigators are doing what they can and they hear from police daily.

21-year-old Christine Wood disappeared on Aug. 19 . Her parents have been searching tirelessly for her ever since.

"Sometimes it's just a friendly text, mostly to my wife, here. It's been very kind," George said.

He added many people they've met know Christine's face and they're on the look out for her. George said it makes them feel like they're not alone and he pleaded for someone to step forward with information.
'It really means a lot. If it was just the two of us here, we'd be lost,' George Wood said of the support he and his wife, Melinda have received has been a tremendous help. (CBC)

"I'm sure there is somebody out there that knows what's happening with her. What's her situation. We just want somebody to come forward. Have a heart," George said.

The couple searches every night in the city, sometimes going out late to drum up any clues. Mostly on their own, but sometimes with family or friends.

"Everyday. And every night," Melinda said. "It is tiring. But I'm not going to give up looking for her. I'm going to find her."

Melinda and George plan to stay in Winnipeg until they find Christine.
