London Morning's associate producer Ryan Soulliere listens to a lot of music each week for his role in picking tunes for the show. In any given week, that's about 25 songs. From this week's show, here are his three top local and Canadian picks.

Orkestar Kriminal - Shaapit Heera

If you're looking for something a little different, Montreal's Orkestar Kriminal might be your new jam. With a focus on reviving old songs about the criminal underworld, Orkestar Kriminal takes musical genre mashing to new heights. For the band, no language or old-world style is off-limits. "So long as the tune is catchy and a little shady, they'll give it their best shot!" Their 12-song album Originali dropped in March and it's a smorgasbord of sound. London Morning played Shaapit Heera from the new album. It's a medium-paced jam that is perfect for unwinding or setting a chill mood.

Descortés - El Círculo

London's Descortés is a real treat for fans of early 2000's hip hop. The rapper and poet has a great flow that fits perfectly over his driving beats. El Círculo is an upbeat and fun tune that will elevate your next gathering and put some spring in your step.

Scenic Route To Alaska - Need Some Sun

The name says it all with this track from Scenic Route To Alaska, after a long winter, most of us are seeking more sunshine. The three-piece indie rockers dropped an eight-song album last week called Lasts Forever and from it, London Morning played Need Some Sun. This one is an undeniable tribute to late-Beatles sound a la Here Comes The Sun. Although similar, there is enough original writing to set Need Some Sun apart as its own jam. This upbeat and positive-sounding song will play well anytime, enjoy it alone or with friends and bask in the warm glow of a good tune.
