Where and when to find food trucks this summer in Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph
Longer days and warmer weather means another summer staple is on the way.
Food trucks are going to be parking in areas near you very soon.
Here's a list of where you can find food trucks in Waterloo Region and Guelph this summer:
Regular weekly events
Every Monday starting May 2, food trucks will start parking at Forest Hill United Church at 121 Westmount Rd. E. in Kitchener from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. The event, known as Food Truck Frenzy, was hit a last year and returns with 10 trucks this coming Monday to kick off the season.
Every Monday as of June 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. there are food trucks in the parking lot of Christ The Saviour Orthodox Chuch, 96 Dunbar Road South, Waterloo.
Every Wednesday starting on May 18, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., there will be food trucks at Parkminster United Church at 275 Erb St. E. in Waterloo.
Every Wednesday starting June 8, there will be food trucks in the area for a weekly charity rally at Guelph's Priory Park Baptist Church at 8 Torch Lane from 5:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m.
Every Thursday starting May 26:
- A food truck will be parked near the Spur Line Trail at 150 Roger St., next to Ambrosia Pastry, for the Truck Eats Cool Treats event from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Check the schedule here.
- Train Station Thursdays returns with food trucks parked at the station at Erb Street West and Father David Bauer Drive for weekly lunches from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until August 25.
Every Friday starting June 3, there will be food trucks in downtown Guelph near St. George's Square for concerts starting at noon. These events will continue until July 22.
One-day festivals
On Saturday, May 28, St. George's of Forest Hill Anglican Church is hosting a Kitchener food truck festival with Fo' Cheezy, Fo' Freezy, Schmuck Truck, Cafe du Monde Creperie and Breakfast Blues and BBQs.
On Sunday, May 29, Guelph is hosting the Big Downtown Food Truck Picnic, starting at 11:30 a.m., with eight trucks at Exhibition Park.
On Saturday, June 4, the Summer Lights Movie Under the Stars event in Victoria Park is taking place, starting at 9:00 p.m. It will also feature several food trucks.
On Saturday, June 11, the King Streatery Food Truck Rally takes place on King Street, from noon to 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, June 18, residents will be able to see the Summer Lights Festival in downtown Kitchener, which will also include food trucks.
On Sunday, September 18, the Outlaw Food Truck Picnic returns to Civic District Park on Queen Street between the Centre in the Square and the Kitchener Public Library. The event runs from noon to 7:00 p.m.
