Cambridge man found dead in Yukon park

A missing Cambridge man who was hiking in Kluane National Park in Yukon has been found dead. 

The 30-year-old man had registered with Parks Canada before leaving on a multi-day hike in the national park, located about 150 km west of Whitehorse, the RCMP said.

Police started searching for the man after he was reported missing Thursday. His body was found in a creek later that day.

Yukon coroner Kristen Macdonald identified the man as Yoichi Kubota. 

Macdonald said he likely slipped and fell and died due to the effects of cold water and exposure.

An autopsy has been ordered to investigate the cause of death.
