Police search 5 more properties in mortgage broker investigation

Hamilton Police searched five properties in Peel and Halton on Thursday as their investigation into Dennis Khanna, a Hamilton mortgage broker, continues. 

Police had searched Khanna's office on King Street West and his home in Oakville last month. Khanna's mortgage broker licence was suspended by provincial regulators in December, who allege that his behaviour fits a pattern.

Police have charged Khanna with five charges of sexual assault. Hamilton Police's fraud team is also investigating, but no fraud charges have been filed.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Police say their investigation has expanded to Brantford, Halton and Niagara. Now they're going through the documents and files they've seized and interviewing clients, they say. 

Hearings in front of the provincial Financial Services Tribunal on the regulators' attempt to revoke his licence are scheduled to begin in July. 

Police are still looking for people with more information about Khanna. Police ask anyone with information "in relation to any fraud occurrences involving Dinesh (Dennis) Khanna" to call Detective Kevin Dhinsa.
