Fourth arrest in killing of club bouncer Vincenzo Lofaro

Hamilton police have arrested a fourth Hamilton man, Joel Benjamin Guerrero, 26, suspected in the shooting in May that killed Club Seventy-Seven bouncer Vincenzo Lofaro.

Guerrero was in court Friday and is now in custody, charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

On Thursday, police said Lofaro was killed by men out for revenge against the club after the men were kicked out of the club earlier that night. At that time, three people were in custody and police were looking for the fourth.

Guerrero was "arrested without incident" according to police. A search warrant has been obtained for his home.

Guerrero joins Rebaz Resh, 25, Waed Alabd Alnabi, 25, and Amnar Nabulsi, 26,  all charged with first degree murder and aggravated assault, according to Hamilton Police.

Lofaro was killed early in the morning of Friday May 13 after, police say, the men kicked out of Club Seventy-Seven on King William Street returned for revenge. Police responded to a call around 3:15 a.m. The club, earlier in the night, had hosted a concert featuring rapper N.O.R.E. 

Lofaro, the father of a 9-year-old boy, was found on the street outside of the club. Police believe he was an "innocent bystander" who had nothing too do with the earlier incident. 

Detective Dave Oleniuk said Thursday Lofaro was probably not even aware it had happened.

Jackie Attard, the mother of Lofaro's son, described Lofaro as "the kind of guy who had a heart of gold. He loved his son dearly."

Resh, Alabd Alnabi and Nabulsi appeared in court Thursday, Guerrero on Friday.
