Police are investigating a bizarre cat killing in the Greenfield neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton.
Louise Gunn found the remains of her cat Remington early Monday morning in her neighbour's yard.
The cat had been cut in half.
"It didn't take long to see the birds out there on the neighbour's lawn, eating something so I went down and it was my cat, but my cat had been killed and cut in half," Gunn told CBC News Tuesday.
"So only the bottom half was there."
This isn't the first time a cat has been mutilated in Gunn's neighbourhood, she said.
She told CBC News that her neighbour's cat was beheaded last spring.
Gunn's veterinarian confirmed that the cat had been cut by a person.
Gunn said her two other cats will be staying inside her house from now on.
