2nd mutilated cat found in southwest Edmonton
Police are investigating another troubling cat killing in the Greenfield neighbourhood in southwest Edmonton.
A cyclist found the cat's body around 39th Avenue and 117th Street Wednesday morning. The cat had been cut in half.
The animal's remains were taken to a veterinarian, who couldn't determine if the cat was killed by an animal or a human.
Police are treating the cat's death as suspicious.
It's the second suspicious death of a cat within a one block radius since May.
Louise Gunn found the remains of her cat Remington on May 31 in her neighbour's yard.
Her cat had been cut in half as well.
At the time Gunn told CBC News her cat wasn't the first to be mutilated.
She said that her neighbour's cat was beheaded last spring.
Gunn said her veterinarian confirmed her cat had been severed by a person.
