Calgary police are looking for a person of interest in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a downtown apartment earlier this month.

Michael Donald Lloyd, 42, was found dead inside the suite, and investigators have said he had been killed several days earlier.

The Calgary Police Service is now asking the public to help find Steven Joseph Reader, 27, who is considered a person of interest in the homicide investigation.

Reader is also wanted on a warrant for breach of probation.

Visible tattoos

Reader is described as six feet tall with blond hair and a small cross tattoo under his right eye. He has another tattoo across his knuckles that reads "PUFF RYDA."

Investigators believe he may be in or around the Red Deer area.

On Aug. 9, Police and EMS discovered Lloyd's body after being called to do a welfare check at an apartment in the 200 block of Sixth Avenue S.E.

Although police wouldn't say how Lloyd was killed, an autopsy confirmed it was a homicide.

Anyone who may have any information about the homicide or Reader's whereabouts is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.
