Spring ain't fully sprung as snowfall warnings issued in Alberta
Southern parts of the province face heavy snow, or mix of rain and snow
After days of warm spring weather, snowfall warnings have been issued for parts of southwestern Alberta.
Areas around Cardston, Crowsnest Pass and Canmore are all covered by the warnings and could see up to 25 centimetres fall before Friday morning.

"Precipitation will likely begin as rain but will transition to snow this afternoon in Kananaskis and tonight in the Pincher Creek and Cardston regions," reads the warning from Environment Canada issued Wednesday.
"Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
Areas around Cypress Hills, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat face the prospect of rain turning to wet snow that could fall as deep as 20 cm.
"The heaviest snow will fall through the day Thursday where five to 10 cm is expected," said Environment Canada.
"This snow will be very heavy and may break tree branches if left to accumulate. Take care when shoveling heavy wet snow. Poor travel conditions are expected Thursday into Friday."
The warnings don't include the Calgary area, but the forecast for the city is a 60 per cent chance of flurries near midnight and periods of snow on Thursday. Accumulations of 2-4 cm are expected.
Shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Cochrane RCMP urged motorists to avoid Highway 1 between Highway 22 and Sibbald Creek Trail due to poor weather conditions and reduced visibility.
