Don't try this at home: Calgary doctors try a scientific approach to busking

Dr. Raj Bhardwaj is well known among CBC Radio listeners for dispensing valuable medical advice, but that's only his day job. 

He's also one half of the Science Buskers. The other half is his friend Dr. Darren Markland. The duo will be performing science experiments this weekend as part of the Beakerhead festival.

Their show has evolved over the years, from the time they were in university together. 

"We were both poor undergrad students. We needed a part-time job. We were working at the Edmonton Space and Science Centre, and we got paired up as science interpreters there," Markland told the Homestretch.

"So we love doing science demos and science shows for people. But we wanted to do stuff that basically just wasn't safe to do indoors. So we branched out on our own because they wouldn't pay insurance for us," Bhardwaj added.
