Police investigate drugstore robberies

Police are looking for a man and woman in connection with a series of pharmacy robberies.

Police are looking for a man and woman in connection with a series of pharmacy robberies.

There have been 10 drug store robberies in Calgary and Cochrane since Oct. 17, police said.

"In the majority of offences, a man and a woman entered the stores and demanded OxyContin. In all cases the offenders indicated that they had a weapon, and in one of the most recent robberies the man produced a knife and threatened staff," police said in a news release.

Police released photos Thursday of two people "who may have information" on the robberies.

"Police believe the offenders are likely to commit further offences and are concerned that as the suspects become more desperate for the drug, they could become more aggressive and potentially violent towards staff or members of the public," the news release said.

OxyContin is a prescription narcotic.
