Calgarians capture stunning shots of last full moon of 2020
We asked you to share your photos of the last full moon of 2020, and here's what we received.
Submitted snapshots showcase views of the 'cold moon' from all around the city
On Tuesday, we did a callout for your photos of the last full moon of 2020 — dubbed the "cold moon."
Here are some of the fabulous shots you sent us in response, featuring shots taken in Calgary and surrounding communities.
CBC Calgary's Starman, Don Hladiuk, said the "cold moon" — or the "full cold moon" — would reach its full phase at 8:28 p.m. Tuesday as it charts a course across one of its highest paths in the sky.
"It has many other monikers, or descriptive names. It can also be known as the 'ice moon' or the 'wolf moon.' But I think cold moon is very descriptive for our part of the world here," he said.
