Three sent to hospital after house catches on fire in Burnaby

Burnaby fire crews are responding to a large 2-alarm house fire in the 7500 block of Burgess Street near Canada Way and 16th Avenue. 

Burnaby residents and commuters were greeted by thick smoke this morning, as Fire Crews worked to put out a fire at a family home near Canada Way and Edmonds. (Al Vaygan/Twitter)

Responders say all five residents of the building and their pets got out safely. Three have been treated for minor smoke inhalation and are expected to fully recover.

Reports say the flames began in the garage and spread to the house.
