Vancouver time lapse: CBC's Rafferty Baker captures city's sparkle
When Baker is not covering the breaking news overnight, he turns his camera to beautiful Vancouver
If you follow CBC Vancouver on our website or social media platforms, you know that we're covering the news 24/7.
One of the key people who helps cover breaking news in Vancouver overnight is Rafferty Baker.
He's also an avid photographer and has been working on and off since February on a time lapse of the city.
"After midnight, a lot of times the stories are bad news — violent crimes, crashes, house fires. But we live in a beautiful city and at night, Vancouver can absolutely sparkle at times," he said.
"While most of you are probably sleeping, I'm lucky enough to be out there to capture that beauty from all angles."
Baker has also shot many photos of sunrises and weather phenomena that are popular on social media, such as those of characteristic October fog in the Lower Mainland.
