If you bought a Lotto Max lottery ticket in Langley in March and forgot about it, now might be a good time to get it out and check it — it could be worth $50 million.

The lottery corporation says the winner has already earned $375,000 in interest. (CBC)

Five months after a ticket sold in Langley, B.C., matched all seven numbers on the March 14 Lotto Max draw, the $50 million prize remains unclaimed, the B.C. Lottery Corporation said.

"There are many reasons why a winner may have not come forward," said BCLC vice president Susan Dolinski in a written statement. "Winners often consult with a financial adviser or a lawyer to sort out their personal affairs, informing family members, or they may be on vacation."

The B.C. Lottery Corporation estimates the prize has already grown roughly $375,000 from an estimated $2,500 per day in accrued interest.

2nd unclaimed ticket worth $13.6 million

A second outstanding prize tied to a B.C. ticket is worth $13,688,924.40, the BCLC said.

That $13.6-million ticket from the August 2, 2014 Lotto 6/49 draw was sold in the Juan de Fuca or Malahat area on Vancouver Island.

Someone in the Juan de Fuca/Malahat region won $13.6 million in the Lotto 6/49 and has not yet claimed the prize

"We encourage anyone who purchased a ticket for either of these draws to check their tickets," said Dolinski.

Winners have one year from the draw date printed on the ticket to claim their prize.

Dolinski says no top lottery prize on Lotto Max or Lotto 6/49 has ever gone unclaimed in B.C.

The largest single prize ever won in Canada was a $54 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot in Alberta in October 2005.
