From Leonard Cohen to Shania Twain: CBC digs into 60 years of archives for new series, From the Vaults
For the past 60 years, CBC has kept an extensive archive of historic performances and candid interviews with some of music's biggest names. These are pivotal cultural moments that few have ever seen — until now.
On Nov. 15, CBC will premiere a new music series called From the Vaults hosted by Tom Power and Amanda Parris. The Banger Films-produced six-part series sorts through 600 hours of content from the CBC Archives to present viewers with rare on-screen moments with Sammy Davis Jr., the Guess Who, Leonard Cohen, Shania Twain, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Céline Dion, Bryan Adams, k.d. lang and more. Watch From the Vaults on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. (9:30 p.m. NT) on CBC-TV, the CBC-TV streaming app and cbc.ca/watch. The first episode will feature performances by Sammy Davis Jr., Joan Baez, Jackie Mittoo and Muddy Waters.
