Justin Bieber just broke a record held by Elvis Presley since 1961
The Canadian pop star is now the youngest soloist to land 7 No. 1 albums in the U.S.
Justin Bieber has scored his seventh No. 1 album with Changes.
The Canadian pop star's first album in almost five years was released on Feb. 14 and as Billboard reports, the album earned 231,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week. (The Billboard 200 charts combine both streams and sales.) While that number is significantly smaller than Bieber's last album, Purpose, which accumulated 649,000 units in its first week, Changes still beat out other popular releases by rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, rock band Tame Impala and K-pop group Monsta X for the top spot.
With his latest No. 1, 25-year-old Bieber has now surpassed Elvis Presley as the youngest soloist to land seven No. 1s in the U.S. Presley landed his seventh hit record, 1961's Blue Hawaii, at the age of 26.

Last week, CBC Music dug into the biggest themes and takeaways from Changes, calling it "a giant Valentine's Day card," referring to the songwriting which was inspired by his marriage with model Hailey Baldwin (now Hailey Bieber).
Last year, Bieber set another Billboard record when he became the only artist to ever reach No. 1 in seven different categories: Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Hot Latin Songs, Hot R&B Songs, Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs. "10,000 Hours," his collaboration with country duo Dan + Shay, brought the singer his first country hit.
