When Jessie Reyez released her debut album, Before Love Came to Kill Us, last March, she wasn't able to tour and promote the record due to the pandemic. (In fact, Reyez was set to open for pop star Billie Eilish on the U.S. leg of her tour.) But now, over a year later, Reyez is giving fans the Before Love Came to Kill Us experience at the 2021 Juno Awards.

Performing the album's opening number, "Do You Love Her" — with its fiery first line edited for TV, from "I should've f--ked your friends" to "I should've smashed your friends" — and its title track, Reyez saunters around an extravagant house accompanied by a pianist, a string quartet and a drummer.

This year also marks the fourth year in a row that Reyez is a Juno Award winner. Following last year's R&B/soul recording of the year win, Reyez took home the prize for best music video at this year's opening night gala for the Emma Higgins-directed "No One's in the Room." She was nominated for five awards in total this year.
