The 2020 Junos have been cancelled since this article was first published.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2021, the Juno Awards will return to Toronto.

"It's an honour to bring Canada's biggest night in music back home to where it all started," announced Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS, the Juno Awards and MusiCounts, via press release.

For this golden anniversary in Toronto, Juno Week will begin on March 22, 2021, and culminate in the 50th annual Juno Awards broadcast at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, March 28, 2021, to be aired live on CBC-TV, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, the free CBC Gem streaming service in Canada and globally at cbc.ca/music/junos.

Toronto was the host city for the first 20 years of the Juno Awards' history, and last hosted the annual awards gala in 2011.

"As the biggest event in Canadian music, this is a great opportunity for Toronto to ... highlight the city's truly diverse yet quintessentially Canadian spirit," says Toronto Mayor John Tory, adding, "We look forward to hosting the best of Canadian music in 2021!"

In the meantime, preparations are underway for the 2020 Juno Awards, set to take place on March 15 at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. Details here.
