Jonas Brothers light up the stage at 111th Grey Cup halftime show
The American pop trio performed before the Argos led Toronto to a 41-24 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Jonas Brothers rocked B.C. Place on Sunday during the halftime show for the Grey Cup, where the Argos would eventually lead Toronto to a 41-24 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
A mass of cheerleaders and a marching band unveiled Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas on the field as the pop trio launched into their 2020 hit "What a Man Gotta Do."
The focus then turned to a neon-lit stage that alternatively spouted fireworks and plumes of flames over the course of the 12-minute set, and the brothers performed shortened versions of eight of their songs.
Dancers and backup musicians on the stage wore black and orange Grey Cup 2024 jerseys, but the Jonas Brothers did not sport any CFL gear.
The band, which first rose to fame following a series of appearances on the Disney Channel in 2005, closed with 2019's "Sucker" while cheerleaders from across the CFL performed a choreographed dance in front of the stage.
"Even if you're on opposing sides, you come together, celebrate a great game and I think it just feels like a perfect fit for us to be a part of an event like that that's so meaningful to people here in Canada," Nick said at a press conference the day before the big game. He also said that watching the NFL was a big part of their childhood years, as the brothers cheered for the New York Giants and their dad cheered for the Dallas Cowboys.
Canadian country artist Owen Riegling performed his songs "Old Dirt Roads" and "Moonshines" before kickoff, and Toronto singer Sofia Camara performed the national anthem.
The Jonas Brothers weren't the only international guests at this year's Grey Cup: Prince Harry attended the game for the first time, making a surprise apperance on TSN's pre-game show to promote his Invictus Games, which will head to Vancouver and Whistler in February 2025.
