Events across the country
Halifax: Montreal DJ A-trak (remember "Barbra Streisand"?) will headline the annual Alderney Landing Canada Day party, with the Sorority, Ellevator, Kallitechnis and Carmen Townsend also on the bill. Music starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 11:30 p.m.
Montreal: The Old Port concert at St. Pierre Square will see David Usher headline a bill that also features Ludovick Bourgeois, Brigitte Boisjoli, Mélissa Bédard and KNLO. The evening will end, as most Canada Day evenings do, with fireworks over the Old Port.
Toronto: While there's no info yet on what might be up at Nathan Phillips Square, the Harbourfront Centre is hosting a show headlined by Broken Social Scene that you likely won't want to miss.
Winnipeg: Canada Day at the Forks features plenty of performers, starting at 1:30 p.m. and going until the end of the night. Catch Little Miss Higgins, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Malcolm-Jay, Moon Tan and more.
Calgary: Former Barenaked Lady Steven Page will headline the Tim Horton's Stage at the City of Calgary's Canada Day celebration, with Ghostkeeper, Post Script and Captain Tractor playing beforehand.
Vancouver: Delhi 2 Dublin headlines the festivities at Canada Place, but you'll have to get there early: their set starts at 5:30 p.m., with previous performers — including James Jones Indigenous Hoop Dancing, Royal Academy of Bhangra and Bitterly Divine — playing from noon to late afternoon. If you're over in the Youth Zone, you can catch the Unified, Old Soul Rebel, Blonde Diamond and Dirty Radio, starting at 12:30 p.m.
Yellowknife: Digawolf, Bella Beats, Flora and the Fireweed and Welders Daughter are all on the bill for the Canada Day festivities. Things get going at 12:15 p.m. and go to 6 p.m., so it's best to get there earlier than later.
