The Grand Prize:
A spot in the Allan Slaight Juno Master Class
The Grand Prize winner will receive: a spot in the next scheduled Allan Slaight Juno Master Class (Sept. 15-20, 2024) artist development program (the "Master Class"). Includes, for up to four band members:
a. Return economy airfare from the major Canadian airport closest to the Band members' home origin to Toronto to attend the Allan Slaight Juno Master Class from Sept. 15-20, 2024, accommodations at a hotel to be chosen by CARAS in its sole discretion, and a per diem.
b. Daily workshops with industry leaders (chosen by Allan Slaight Master Class organizers).
c. A performance spot at a music industry showcase night in Toronto. Dates and location TBA.
d. Mention within marketing and promotion of the Allan Slaight Juno Master Class program, not limited to content promoting artists in the program on Juno Awards social channels.
A recording residency, presented by Partake Brewing, at the National Music Centre in Calgary
A five-day residency presented by Partake Brewing at the National Music Center (NMC) in Calgary, for one artist/group of up to four musicians (the "Residency"). The Residency includes: access to the NMC's recording facilities for up to eight hours each day (total 40 hours); access to a studio engineer, and to the NMC's instrument collection. In addition, the Residency includes a community outreach program (performance, workshop, talk, mentorship, collaborative project, or presenting works in progress) which will be developed before and during the Residency with the help of the NMC Programming team. The Residency also includes $750 of travel stipend per person up to four individuals and up to two (2) two queen bed accommodations in Calgary at a hotel within walking distance from Studio Bell chosen by NMC in its sole discretion. The Residency must be initiated by Nov. 30, 2024. (Approximate value of prize: $22,000.)
A Yangaroo Music DMDS music and video promotion package
The Grand Prize winner of CBC Music's Searchlight will receive a curated full-service music promotion distribution campaign for one audio release (single or album) and one video release covering relevant destinations in Canada, U.S. and Latin America. The full-service package includes professional guidance and consultation from Yangaroo staff for the creation of the release, release notification email, promotional assets, materials and metadata. Recipients include radio and TV programmers, music curators, media, bloggers, music supervisors, industry VIPs and more. The top prize also includes additional marketing and promotion such as:

A $1,000 grant to further excellence in the songwriting craft from the SOCAN foundation of Canada.
