How to make your own virtual music class video
Follow these steps from the Calgary Arts Academy to create your own music class performance video
We realize that this year, we're really putting the "challenge" into the Canadian Music Class Challenge. With COVID-19 restrictions impacting music classes and programs in many provinces, we have responded by creating two ways for classes to participate, no matter what type of situation your class finds itself in.
- Sign up for our new Canadian Music Playlist Challenge, which doesn't require any musical performance at all. Check out all the details on that project-based initiative here.
- Sign up for the Canadian Music Class Challenge to safely create a video of your class performing one of the songs from our list by following the guidelines in your province or territory. That may mean creating a virtual performance video like these.
If the challenge of creating your own virtual performance video seems daunting, have no fear! The music educators at the Calgary Arts Academy (2018 Passion Prize winners) have stepped up in a big way by creating a how-to playlist on YouTube so that you can learn how to make your very own safe and virtual performance video with your class. Check out their incredible playlist below.
A huge thanks to the music educators and everyone at the Calgary Arts Academy for putting together those amazing videos! We look forward to your virtual performance, or any entry you submit to this year's Canadian Music Class Challenge.
