Toronto R&B singer Daniel Caesar is back with a surprise followup album, Case Study 01, featuring even larger names than his highly collaborative debut album, Freudian. Lead single "Love Again" is a duet with Brandy, while Pharrell Williams, John Mayer and Sean Leon all appear on the 10-track album.

Freudian was nominated for three Grammy Awards, and shortlisted for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize. Caesar won his first Grammy this year for best R&B performance with H.E.R. on "Best Part," which is off his debut. The unsigned artist has been fairly quiet since that 2017 album, releasing "Beauty & Essex" with the Free Nationals and Unknown Mortal Orchestra last year, as well as "Who Hurt You." He was featured on "HER Love" with Common and Dwele in June 2019. None of those songs are on Case Study 01.
