'I loved it so much': Céline Dion moved by Kelly Clarkson's cover of 'My Heart Will Go On'
The pop stars shared words of support for each other on social media
Céline Dion was moved to tears after Kelly Clarkson performed a touching cover of "My Heart Will Go On."
As part of Clarkson's "Kellyoke" segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she covers popular songs, the American Idol alum sang an emotional rendition of the Titanic hit and the performance struck a chord with Dion.
In a video shared to her social media channels, Dion praised Clarkson for singing the song.
"You were absolutely incredible. Fantastic," Dion said in the video, posted on Oct. 8. "I loved it so much. I hope we can see each other in person soon, very soon. And I hope I'm not going to start crying. I love you so much."
Dion also revealed that she had seen Clarkson's emotional reaction to her Olympics performance in July. The performance in Paris was Dion's first since sharing her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis and stepping out of the spotlight.
"That was really beautiful," Clarkson said of Dion's comeback in Paris. "People don't know her story. What she's been going through physically... it's just incredible what she's overcome and have that moment."
Clarkson responded to Dion's message on Oct. 8 with a video of her own.
"I got to honour someone who is such a hero to me, vocally," Clarkson said, before inviting Dion to come on her show.
