Registration for 5-week Driver Z program to begin May 28
Manitoba Public Insurance is expanding a high school driver education program amid a surge in demand.
MPI will offer a condensed form of its Driver Z courses this summer, the public insurer said in a news release Monday.
The program uses a mix of in-person and virtual classes as well as in-car training to teach students driving skills. A five-week version of the regular 12-week course will be offered in July and August, the release said.
The condensed program will have two weeks of virtual classes followed by three weeks of in-car lessons.
The course will be offered in July in Arborg, Beausejour, Brandon, Portage la Prairie, Steinbach, Winkler and Winnipeg.
It will be offered in August in Brandon, Steinbach, Winkler, Winnipeg and The Pas.
Students must attend all classes to complete the course.
Registration begins on May 28 at 8 a.m. Students should visit an Autopac agent or MPI service centre in advance to get set up.
