Extreme cold warnings issued by Environment Canada earlier Saturday for southwestern Manitoba, including the Brandon area, have now been lifted, the weather agency says.
Environment Canada had issued extreme cold warnings earlier Saturday for areas including Brandon, Neepawa, Virden, Pilot Mound, Minnedosa and Riding Mountain National Park.
Those warnings were lifted (external link)around 9 a.m., as conditions were no longer expected to reach the extreme cold warning criteria, Environment Canada said.
However, that doesn't mean it won't be cold.
The weather agency is forecasting(external link) a high of just –20 C for Brandon Saturday, with the wind chill making it feel like –29 C in the afternoon. The wind chill will be near –32 overnight, with the risk of frostbite, according to Environment Canada's forecast for Brandon.
