The executive director of Transit Windsor has been selected as the new chief administrative officer of the Municipality of Lakeshore.
Tyson Cragg will take over the post on Jan. 14, according to an announcement from the municipality.
"I am honoured to serve the residents of Lakeshore in my new role as chief administrative officer," Cragg said in a statement.
"Lakeshore is a dynamic municipality with a bright future, and I am delighted to be working alongside council and the talented members of Team Lakeshore to continue to enrich the lives of residents and build communities that we can be proud of."
Cragg took over the executive role at Transit Windsor in 2020 and oversaw an increase in ridership and significant improvements in service delivery, according to the news release.
He also oversaw major capital investments.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the City of Windsor says it wishes Cragg "all the best and success in his new position."
It notes the city will soon begin the process to recruit a new Transit Windsor executive director.
Prior to working for the City of Windsor, he was the manager of operations at the City of London (London Transit Commission), and he has held several leadership positions in the private sector.
"We are confident that Tyson will play a pivotal role in moving Lakeshore forward," Mayor Tracey Bailey said in the release.
"We have seen a significant amount of change during this term of council as well as the adoption of two master plans that are critical to the future of Lakeshore. Tyson's vision and leadership align perfectly with our strategic goals and the work that lies ahead."
