Tegan and Sara received the Humanitarian Award for the charity work they've done in their decades-long career to support and uplift the 2SLGBTQ+ community at the 2024 Juno Awards.
Actor Elliot Page presented the pop duo with the award and noted its significance: "We are at a time in history where the rights of 2SLGBTQ+ people are being restricted, revoked, and eliminated throughout the world, the effects of which are devastating," he said.
"Tegan and Sara have proven time and time again, their commitment to ensuring that the lives of queer youth are happy, healthy, and most importantly, long," he added.
The sisters gave a heartfelt speech, which included thanking their fans for their support. "Whether you knew it or not, each of you has played a central role in helping fund the work we do with the Tegan and Sara Foundation," Tegan said.
"To all the incredible 2SLGBTQ+ organizations we've been able to support across this country, thank you for existing, and for standing up for our community."
