Tate McRae, the Beaches, Aysanabee, Tobi lead this year with the most wins
The 2024 Juno Awards concluded on Sunday evening, and all of this year's trophies have now been handed out. Instead of one artist sweeping the weekend as in previous years, various musicians took home two awards.
Among those who walked away with multiple wins were Tate McRae, Tobi, Aysanabee, the Beaches and Charlotte Cardin.
McRae, who had a breakout year in 2023 with her hit song "Greedy," took home single and artist of the year. Toronto rapper Tobi won rap single of the year for "Someone I Knew," off his 2023 album, Panic, which also won rap album/EP of the year. Aysanabee, a first-time nominee last year, earned his first wins, taking home songwriter and alternative album of the year for his EP Here and Now. His wins also mark the first time an Indigenous artist has won in either category.
Another historic moment was when Surrey, B.C., artist Karan Aujla won the TikTok Fan Choice Award, making him the first racialized person to ever win in that category. And with two more wins, adding up to 40 total, Orchestre symphonique de Montréal now ties Céline Dion for the fourth most Juno wins in history.
