When Spotify decided to invest heavily in podcasting, it may not have anticipated that by doing so, it was inadvertently creating a huge — and expensive — headache.
Bloomberg reporter Ashley Carman(external link) sits down with host Elamin Abdelmahmoud to explain how white noise podcasters have cut into Spotify's annual profits by $38 million dollars — and what the platform is doing about it.
