George Elliott Clarke was Canada's parliamentary poet laureate and was the fourth poet laureate of Toronto. His recognitions include the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Fellows Prize, the Governor General's Literary Award and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Achievement Award.
