Canadian Linwood Barclay's thriller novel Fear the Worst to be adapted to film starring Jason Priestley

Canadian thriller writer Linwood Barclay's novel Fear the Worst is set to become a film starring Canadian actor Jason Priestley.
Toronto-based production company Marina Cordoni Entertainment (MCE) and Hollywood television production firm Reynolds Entertainment announced the deal to adapt the 2017 bestselling book to screen.
Barclay will write the screenplay, and Priestley of TV's 90210 and Call Me Fitz fame is set to star and executive produce.
The novel Fear the Worst revolves around a divorced father whose life is disrupted when his teen daughter mysteriously disappears. His search will lead him on a journey through the underworld, faced continually with the unrelenting fear of never finding his daughter.
Production for the adaptation is slated to begin in fall 2021.
Linwood Barclay is an American-Canadian thriller writer, with almost 20 books to his credit.
His books include the adult thrillers Broken Promise, A Noise Downstairs, Elevator Pitch and the middle-grade novels Escape and Chase.
His 2018 novel, Never Saw It Coming, is also slated to be adapted to screen and his next thriller novel, Find You First, about a tech millionaire who learns someone is killing the heirs to his fortune, will be released in May 2021.
