Communities across Nova Scotia are reeling after one of the deadliest mass shootings in Canadian history.

It's been a week of loss, mourning and vigils to honour the victims — all while maintaining physical distancing requirements because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Canadians have offered words of support for those left behind.

How Nova Scotians are finding ways to grieve a week after one of Canada's deadliest mass killings

Nova Scotians are coming together this weekend to remember those who were killed in last week's mass shooting. Although there are orders to keep physically distant because of COVID-19, many are finding ways to pay their respects to the victims.

How the pandemic makes mourning Nova Scotia shooting victims that much more difficult

The rules limiting social gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic mean Nova Scotians won't be able to unite in a public setting to mourn those killed in last weekend's mass shooting. However, some folks are planning an alternative way to try to bring people together.

It's part of the current reality that the forced limitations on social gatherings have extended to mourners, preventing those who are grieving the loss of loved ones from coming together at funerals, or memorials, including any public vigil that would have come out of the N.S. shootings.

Woman who survived deadliest U.S. mass shooting relives her nightmare in rural N.S.

Over the weekend, Tonya Dort found herself in a nightmare she hoped never to relive — an active shooter in her area. Dort and her husband, Kevin, are survivors of the Las Vegas tragedy. Now, they've lived through one of the worst shootings in modern Canadian history as well.
