Residents and workers at long-term care homes for seniors are among the most vulnerable people in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attributed a surge in deaths to unexpected outbreaks in several long-term care facilities, he said Thursday.
According to Canada's Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam, nearly half of the country's 1,506 COVID-19 deaths are linked to these homes.
