'Wash your hands and cancel your plans,' urged the singer
While Dan Mangan's Toronto show last night was technically postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, he and his band were already in town with all their gear, so they decided to go ahead anyway — and recorded the audience-less show, which premiered last night at 9 p.m. ET.
"Social distancing is being practised here, so we figured why not play an empty show, we have all our gear here anyways?" Mangan explained at the beginning of the video.
"Thank you for watching. Wash your hands," Mangan added. Then he started singing: "Wash your hands, and cancel your plans."
You can watch the full 25-minute concert below. The setlist includes:
- "About as Helpful as You Can Be Without Being Any Help at All"
- "Kitsch"
- "Lynchpin"
- "Vessel"
- "Sold"
- "So Much for Everyone"
If you want to help the musicians who now are out of work, there's an additional line in the YouTube description: "To donate to the band/crew (who all work in the gig economy and have no work next few months): https://smarturl.it/ShowToNobodyDonate."
Mangan's Toronto show will now take place on June 26.
