Keep showers five minutes or under and wash dishes once a day.
Those are some water conservation tips from the administration office at Oneida Nation of the Thames, where officials say water supply has reached a low level.
Officials issued a release on Thursday stating supply is low due to extreme weather conditions that cause consumption to peak at once. This jeopardizes emergency supply.
Officials are asking community members to conserve water effective Friday.
"In order to ensure that there is continuous supply of water, we need to reduce the daily consumption rate until further notice," the release said.
Community members are also asked to:
  • Minimize watering lawns or gardens
  • Minimize laundry washing or washing full loads
  • Raise blade on lawn mower
  • Don't let water run
  • Fix leaky pipes
  • Avoid filling swimming pools
