A list of Canada Day parties happening off Parliament Hill

Events are happening elsewhere in Ottawa and throughout eastern Ontario on Monday, July 1
For the second year in a row it looks to be quite warm on the Hill for Canada Day, and security checkpoints may make for a long wait to get inside the grounds.
If you're looking for somewhere else to go, here are some options elsewhere in Ottawa and in nearby eastern Ontario.
Events across Ottawa
Barrhaven:
A midway opened Friday and many people will celebrate July 1 at Clark Fields.
Find the full Canada Day schedule here. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
This year's event has increased security due to several incidents during the 2018 celebration.
There will be a fence around the event space and every patron must enter through two marked entrances and go through a bag check. There will also be more security workers.
Kanata:
Those looking to party in Ottawa's west end can head out to Walter Baker Park in Kanata.
Here's the full list of events and concerts. Fireworks take place at 10 p.m.
Orléans:
Once again, Petrie Island is home to the Canada Day celebration in Orléans.
The event list can be found here, which includes a concert by Coun. Matt Luloff's band, Hearts and Mines. Fireworks happen at 10 p.m.
Cumberland:
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at of Ottawa is hosting a Canada Day celebration at the Baitul Naseer Mosque in Cumberland from 12 to 2 p.m.
Eastern Ontario/Ottawa Valley
Almonte:
The party starts at 9 a.m. with fireworks in Metcalfe Park at dusk.
Arnprior:
Canada Day in the 'Prior takes place starts bright and early with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. and ends with a fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. below the Madawaska Bridge.
Brockville:
There are several events over the Canada Day long weekend in Brockville, and you can find them all here.
The fireworks display takes place between 9:30 and 10 p.m. over the St. Lawrence River.
Carleton Place:
The Canada Day celebration happens at Riverside Park starting at 12:30 p.m., with fireworks set for 10 p.m.
Casselman:
The Canada Day celebration in Casselman takes place at the J.R. Brisson Complex, with fireworks set for 10 p.m.
Clarence-Rockland:
Canada Day will be celebrated in Clarence-Rockland at the Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena starting at 9 a.m. Fireworks are set for 10 p.m.
Cornwall:
The party takes place at Lamoureux Park including a performance by a '90s hit-maker, Cornwall's own Barstool Prophets, with fireworks set for 10 p.m.
Hawkesbury:
You can mark our country's birthday in Hawkesbury starting on the evening of June 30 and during the day on July 1.

The party in downtown Kingston starts on the evening of June 30 with live music. Fireworks cap the day at 10 p.m. and the best view is at Confederation Park.
Pembroke:
Canada Day starts on the waterfront at noon in Pembroke with fireworks at 10 p.m.
Perth:
Canada Day in Perth happens at Conlon Farm with fireworks at 10 p.m.
Renfrew:
Canada Day runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at Ma-te-Way Park in Renfrew with fireworks capping the night.
