Dozer the 6-foot-5 steer has captured the hearts and minds of bovine-lovers around the world
A new challenger has appeared in the quest to find the biggest, beefiest bovine — and the internet has opinions.
On Thursday, As It Happens interviewed the owner of the Manitoba animal sanctuary that is home to Dozer, the cuddly 6-foot-5 steer who avoided a grisly fate at the slaughterhouse.
The Canadian creature clocked in at one inch taller than Knickers, the Australian steer who became a viral sensation last week when his owner deemed him too big to kill.
Many of you embraced this bizarre news cycle of bovine one-upmanship.
Others appear concerned by a possible diplomatic spat, if not an all-out war over cows.
Indeed, people have already begun declaring themselves #TeamKnickers or #TeamDozer.
Others wonder: Can't these big boys just get along?
Er, we saw what you did there.
But almost everyone is in agreement that in these turbulent times, we need more stories about enormous farm animals.
