Aida Edemariam is a writer of Ethiopian and Canadian heritage. She currently lives in the U.K. where she's a senior feature writer and editor for The Guardian. Her first book, published in 2018, is The Wife's Tale. The book is a nonfiction account of her grandmother Yetemegnu's life in Ethiopia, covering her marriage at the age of 10, her life as a mother to several children and her endurance through Fascist invasion and civil war.
The Wife's Tale was shortlisted for the 2018 Governor General's Literary Award for nonfiction.
